What is a character counter?

A character counter is a free online tool that tells you exactly how many characters your text contains — both including and excluding spaces — along with the number of words, sentences and paragraphs. Instead of guessing or pasting into another app, you can see the numbers update live as you write, which makes it easy to stay inside a length limit.
