Convert WebP images to JPG or PNG in your browser — keep transparency with PNG, or pick a background and quality for JPG. Your image is never uploaded.
Runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded.
Note: the conversion runs in your browser with JavaScript. With JavaScript off you can read this guide, but the tool controls will not appear.
This tool turns a WebP image into a JPG or PNG entirely in your browser — no upload and no network request. Choose PNG to keep transparency, or JPG for a smaller file where you can set the quality and a background colour for transparent areas.
The browser decodes your WebP and draws it onto an off-screen canvas, then encodes that canvas to your chosen format. For PNG the transparency is preserved; for JPG the canvas is first filled with your background colour, because JPG cannot store transparency, and then encoded at your chosen quality. Everything happens in memory on your device, and the temporary download link is released when you convert again or clear.
This tool converts from WebP to JPG or PNG and stays focused on that; it does not claim other formats. It relies on your browser being able to decode WebP — almost all current browsers can, and if yours cannot it shows a clear message instead of a broken file. JPG output has no transparency (transparent areas take the background colour) and is lossy. Very large images are guarded against to keep the browser responsive.
Everything runs locally in your browser. Your image is never uploaded, stored or shared, and the tool makes no network requests.

Remove a solid or near-uniform background from an image in your browser and get a transparent PNG. It uses a local colour-based edge algorithm — not an AI model — and works best on product shots, logos and graphics. Your image is never uploaded.
