This tool creates standards-compliant QR codes entirely in your browser using a bundled QR library — no upload and no network request. Encode plain text, a URL, an email address, a phone number or Wi-Fi credentials, choose the size, colours, quiet-zone margin and error-correction level, and download the result as a PNG or a crisp SVG.

How to use the QR Code Generator

  1. Choose a content type — Text, URL, Email, Phone or Wi-Fi — and fill in the fields.
  2. Set the options — error correction (L/M/Q/H), size, margin and colours.
  3. Click Generate QR code to see the preview.
  4. Download the PNG or SVG, or copy the encoded content. Use Clear to start over.

How it works

When you generate, the tool builds the correct content string for your chosen type (for example mailto: for email, tel: for phone, or a WIFI: string for Wi-Fi), encodes it with a bundled QR library at your chosen error-correction level, and draws the resulting module matrix onto a canvas at your selected size and colours. The PNG comes from that canvas; the SVG is built as a vector of the same modules so it stays sharp at any size. Content is encoded as UTF-8 so accented characters and symbols scan correctly. Everything happens in memory on your device.

Limitations

QR codes have a capacity limit that shrinks as the error-correction level rises; very long content may not fit, and the tool will tell you to shorten it or lower the error correction. Extremely long text makes a dense code that is harder to scan — prefer a short URL. For reliable scanning, keep a light background behind a dark foreground and include a quiet-zone margin.

Everything runs locally in your browser. Your content is never uploaded, stored or shared, and the tool makes no network requests.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these real, scannable QR codes?
Yes. They are standards-compliant QR codes generated by a bundled QR library and rendered pixel-accurately, so any QR scanner or phone camera can read them. They are not decorative grids.
Is my content uploaded anywhere?
No. The QR code is generated entirely inside your own browser. Your text, link or Wi-Fi details are never uploaded, stored or shared, and the tool makes no network requests.
What can I encode?
Plain text, a URL, an email address (opens the mail app), a phone number (starts a call) or Wi-Fi credentials (lets a phone join the network). Choose the type and fill in the fields; the tool builds the correct QR content for you.
What is the error-correction level?
It controls how much of the code can be damaged or obscured while still scanning. L is lowest (smallest code), H is highest (most robust, larger code). M is a good default; use Q or H if the code may be printed small, on a curved surface or partly covered by a logo.
Can I download an SVG?
Yes. You can download a PNG (raster) or an SVG (vector), plus choose the size, foreground and background colours and the quiet-zone margin. SVG stays crisp at any size, which is ideal for printing.
