PDF Splitter

Split a PDF in your browser — extract selected pages, break it into single pages, or split it by page ranges. Your PDF is never uploaded.

Runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded.

This tool runs in your browser. Please enable JavaScript to use it — the guide below explains what it does.

Note: splitting runs in your browser and needs JavaScript enabled. With JavaScript off you can still read this guide, but the split controls will not appear.

How to use the PDF Splitter

  1. Click the upload area to choose a PDF, or drag and drop one onto it.
  2. Check the file details — name, size and total page count.
  3. Pick a mode: Extract pages, Split into single pages, or Split by ranges.
  4. Enter the pages or ranges (where needed) and press Split PDF.
  5. Download each result. Press Clear to start again.

What is a PDF splitter?

A PDF splitter takes one PDF and produces one or more smaller PDFs from its pages. It is useful for pulling a single form out of a long document, separating scanned pages, breaking a big report into chapters, or removing the pages you don’t need. This tool does it entirely in your browser, so your file stays on your device.

Extract selected pages

Choose Extract pages and type the pages you want, using numbers and ranges separated by commas — for example 1,3,5-7. The pages are copied into a single new PDF in exactly the order you type. Ranges expand in ascending order, so 5-7 becomes 5, 6, 7, and entering 5-6,1-2 gives a PDF with pages 5, 6, 1, 2. If you list the same page twice, it is included twice.

Split into individual pages

Choose Split into single pages to turn every page into its own one-page PDF. A 10-page document becomes ten PDFs — page-1.pdf through page-10.pdf — and each one can be downloaded separately.

Split by page ranges

Choose Split by ranges to break the document into sections. Enter ranges separated by commas, such as 1-3, 4-7, 8-10, and each range becomes its own PDF. A single number like 8 produces a one-page PDF. Each range is independent, so you decide exactly how the document is divided.

Supported files and limits

The tool accepts standard PDF files up to the size limit shown in the interface. Password-protected or damaged PDFs may not be readable; if a file cannot be opened, you get a clear message rather than a silent failure. Splitting copies the selected pages exactly — it does not resize, re-compress or alter their content, and your original file is never changed.

Features

  • Three modes — extract chosen pages, one PDF per page, or split by ranges.
  • Exact order — extracted pages appear in the order you type.
  • Real PDFs — every result is a genuine, downloadable PDF.
  • Drag & drop or file picker, with clear page and size details.
  • Completely private — everything runs in your browser.

Privacy and local processing

Your PDF is processed locally in your browser and is never uploaded. There is no server processing, no cloud service and no account — the PDF engine runs on your own device, so it is safe to split private contracts, statements and personal documents. When you close the tab, nothing remains.

Is it private?

Yes — this is the whole point. Your PDF is split in your browser and is never uploaded, stored or shared. There is no tracking and no sign-up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the PDF Splitter free?
Yes. It is completely free to use, with no account, sign-up or limits.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. This is the key feature of the tool: your PDF is read and split entirely inside your own browser using a bundled PDF library. It is never uploaded, stored or shared, so it is safe to split private or confidential documents.
What ways can I split a PDF?
Three ways: extract specific pages you list (for example 1, 3, 5-7 into one new PDF), split the document into one PDF per page, or split it into separate PDFs by the page ranges you define.
In what order are extracted pages arranged?
Exactly the order you type them. For example, entering 5-6,1-2 produces a PDF with pages 5, 6, 1, 2 in that order. Ranges expand in ascending order, and if you list a page more than once it is included more than once.
Are the split PDFs real, valid PDF files?
Yes. Each result is a genuine PDF built from the selected pages, so it opens in any normal PDF viewer. The original file is never changed, and each result can be downloaded separately.
