Crop images without uploading them

This tool crops JPG, PNG and WebP images entirely in your browser — no upload and no network request, and no external cropper library. Drag a selection on the image or type exact pixel coordinates, then export the cropped result as JPG, PNG or WebP. The on-screen selection is mapped to the image's real pixels, so the crop is exact and full-resolution.

How to use the Image Cropper

  1. Add your image — drag it onto the drop area or click to browse.
  2. Select the area — drag on the image to draw a box, drag inside it to move it, or drag a corner to resize. You can also type exact X, Y, width and height values.
  3. Choose the output — keep the original format or pick JPG, PNG or WebP; set quality and a background colour where they apply.
  4. Click Crop, then Download. Use Reset crop to select the whole image again, or Clear to start over.

How it works

When you add an image it is shown at a size that fits your screen, while the tool remembers its true pixel dimensions. Your selection — whether dragged or typed — is stored in the image's real coordinates and kept inside the image boundaries with a sensible minimum size, so it can never go out of range or invert. When you crop, only the selected region is drawn onto a canvas at full resolution and encoded to your chosen format (filling a background first for JPG, which has no transparency). Everything happens in memory on your device, and temporary object URLs are released when you crop again or clear.

Limitations

Cropping only removes area; it does not add pixels or upscale. JPG output has no transparency, so transparent areas take the background colour you choose — use PNG or WebP to keep transparency. Supported inputs are JPG, PNG and WebP; WebP depends on your browser's support. Very large images are guarded against to keep the browser responsive.

Privacy

Everything runs locally in your browser. Your image is never uploaded, stored or shared, and the tool makes no network requests.
