How to use the Extract Pages tool

  1. Click the upload area to choose a PDF, or drag and drop one onto it.
  2. Check the file details — name, size and total page count.
  3. Type the pages to extract, e.g. 1,3,5-8,12.
  4. Press Extract Pages to build one new PDF with just those pages.
  5. Download the result, or press Clear to start again.

What Extract Pages does

Extract Pages takes one PDF and creates a single new PDF containing only the pages you choose, in the order you list them. It is perfect for pulling a few pages out of a long document — a single form, a chapter, an appendix, or just the pages you need to send — without touching the original file.

Extract Pages vs Split PDF

These two tools sound similar but do different jobs. Extract Pages produces one PDF made up of the pages you select. Split PDF instead breaks a document into several separate PDFs (one per page, or one per range). Choose Extract Pages when you want a single combined document of chosen pages; choose Split PDF when you want the pages saved as multiple files.

Supported page selections

  • Single pages 1, 5, 10
  • Several pages 1,3,5
  • A range 2-5 → pages 2, 3, 4, 5
  • Mixed 1-3,7,10-12 → 1, 2, 3, 7, 10, 11, 12
  • Spaces are fine 1, 3, 5-8, 12

Pages come out in the order you type them, so 5,2,4 gives a PDF with pages 5, 2, 4 in that order. If you list the same page more than once, it is included only once (the first time it appears), so 1,3,3,5 becomes 1, 3, 5.

Useful notes

Every selected page is copied exactly as it is, keeping its size, orientation and content, and your original PDF is never modified. Page numbers must be within the document — asking for page 999 of a 10-page PDF, a backwards range like 5-2, or non-numbers like abc will show a clear error so you can fix the selection.

Privacy and local processing

Your PDF is processed locally in your browser and is never uploaded. There is no server processing, no cloud service and no account — the PDF library runs on your own device, so it is safe to extract pages from private contracts, statements and personal documents. When you close the tab, nothing remains.

How is this different from the PDF Splitter?
Extract Pages produces one new PDF containing only the pages you choose (for example 1, 3, 5-8), in the order you type them. The PDF Splitter instead breaks a PDF into several separate files. Use Extract Pages when you want a single document of selected pages.
How do I choose which pages to keep?
Type page numbers and ranges separated by commas — for example 1,3,5-8,12. Ranges expand in order, spaces are ignored, and the pages appear in the order you list them. If you list the same page twice, it is kept only once (first occurrence).
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Your PDF is read and rebuilt entirely inside your own browser using a bundled PDF library. It is never uploaded, stored or shared, so it is safe for private documents.
Are the extracted pages kept intact?
Yes. Each selected page is copied as-is into the new PDF, preserving its size, orientation and content. The result is a standard PDF that opens in any normal viewer, and your original file is never changed.
