Open Graph Generator

Generate Open Graph and Twitter/X meta tags for rich social sharing previews — title, description, image, type and card. Built and escaped in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded.

This tool runs in your browser. Please enable JavaScript to use it — the guide below explains what it does.

Note: the meta tags are generated in your browser with JavaScript. With JavaScript off you can read this guide, but the tool controls will not appear.

Generate Open Graph and Twitter/X meta tags

This tool builds Open Graph and Twitter/X social meta tags entirely in your browser — no network request and nothing uploaded. Fill in the fields that apply and the tool outputs clean, HTML-escaped <meta> tags you can paste into your page head. Only fields you complete are turned into tags.

How it works

  1. Enter your page details — title, description, canonical URL and an image URL.
  2. Choose the Open Graph type — website, article or profile (article adds published/modified time and author).
  3. Set the Twitter/X card and any Twitter-specific title, description or image.
  4. Click Generate tags, then copy the meta tags into the head of your page.

Benefits and features

  • Open Graph + Twitter/X — generate both sets of tags at once.
  • Type-aware — article tags appear only when the type is article.
  • Safe output — every attribute value is HTML-escaped, so quotes and symbols won't break your markup.
  • Only what you need — empty fields are omitted; nothing is padded with placeholder values.
  • Private and offline — tags are built locally and never uploaded.

Practical tips

Use an accurate, compelling title and description, and a large, correctly sized image with descriptive alt text for the best previews. Provide an absolute canonical URL. After updating tags, remember that platforms cache metadata — use a platform's sharing or debugging tool to refresh a preview if needed.

Limitations

Correct tags help, but each platform decides whether and how to display a preview and may crop images or apply its own formatting. This tool does not fetch your URLs or images to verify they load, and it cannot guarantee a specific preview appearance.

Privacy

Everything runs locally in your browser. Your input is never uploaded, stored or shared, and the tool makes no network requests.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Open Graph tags?
Open Graph meta tags describe your page to social platforms so shared links can show a title, description and image. Twitter/X uses a related set of tags (twitter:card and friends). This tool generates both.
Where do I put the generated tags?
Paste them into the head section of your page's HTML. Only tags for fields you filled in are generated, so you can add exactly what you need.
Will these tags guarantee how my preview looks?
No. Correct tags help, but each platform decides whether and how to show a preview, and may apply its own formatting or image cropping. This tool cannot guarantee a specific appearance.
I updated my tags but the old preview still shows — why?
Social platforms cache metadata. After updating tags it can take time for previews to refresh; some platforms offer a debugging or sharing tool that lets you re-scrape a URL.
Is my input uploaded or checked online?
No. The tags are built and HTML-escaped entirely in your browser. Your input is never uploaded, stored or shared, and the tool makes no network requests — it does not verify that your URLs or images load.
