Calculate your loan EMI

This calculator works out your Equated Monthly Installment (EMI) entirely in your browser from the loan amount, annual interest rate and tenure. It also shows the total interest, total payment, the interest share of your payments and a compact amortization summary.

How it works

  1. Enter the loan amount you plan to borrow.
  2. Enter the annual interest rate (in %). Zero-interest loans are supported.
  3. Enter the tenure and choose years or months.
  4. Pick a currency symbol (display only), then click Calculate EMI.

What you'll see

  • Monthly EMI — the fixed amount you pay each month.
  • Principal & total interest — how much is borrowed versus paid in interest.
  • Total payment — the full amount repaid over the loan.
  • Interest percentage — interest as a share of the total payment.
  • Amortization summary — the first months plus the final month for longer loans.

The formula

EMI is calculated as EMI = P·r·(1+r)ⁿ ÷ ((1+r)ⁿ − 1), where P is the principal, r is the monthly interest rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n is the number of monthly installments. For a 0% loan the EMI is simply the principal divided by the number of months, so the result is never undefined.

Limitations

Results are estimates. Actual loan payments may vary because of lender fees, taxes, insurance, rounding, and loan-specific terms. The currency dropdown changes only the displayed symbol — no exchange rate or conversion is applied.

Privacy

Everything runs locally in your browser. The numbers you enter are never uploaded, stored or shared, and the tool makes no network requests.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is EMI and how is it calculated?
EMI is the fixed Equated Monthly Installment you pay on a loan. It uses the formula EMI = P·r·(1+r)ⁿ ÷ ((1+r)ⁿ − 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n is the number of months. For a 0% loan, the EMI is simply the amount divided by the number of months.
What do total interest and interest percentage mean?
Total payment is the EMI multiplied by the number of months. Total interest is the total payment minus the loan amount — the extra you pay for borrowing. Interest percentage is that interest as a share of the total payment.
Does the currency dropdown convert my amounts?
No. It only changes the currency symbol shown next to the figures (₹, $, AED, €, £). No exchange rates are applied and no conversion is performed.
Why is the amortization table only a summary?
To keep the tool fast and readable it shows the first twelve months plus the final month for longer loans, clearly labelled as a summary, rather than generating hundreds or thousands of rows.
Are these figures exact?
Results are estimates. Actual loan payments may vary because of lender fees, taxes, insurance, rounding, and loan-specific terms. All calculations run locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
